Thanks to the very hard work of Danielle Martin at MassIMPACT, with the help of many other devoted volunteers, the Stories for Change website launched on May 27.

It's a fabulous place to watch digital stories, post your own story (a la YouTube), and to find and post teaching materials related to digital storytelling.

The Computers and Writing Conference brings together compositionists interested in digital writing, and this year's conference convened May 17-20, on the campus of Wayne State University in Detroit, MI.

The conference theme this year was Virtual Urbanism, and my paper, called "Kevin Lynch and the Image of the City: How Location-Based Storytelling Can Contribute to the Imageability of a Place," explored the work of one of my old favorite theorists of the city, Kevin Lynch.

MassIMPACT, in tandem with Inquilinos Boricuas en Accion (IBA) the El Batey Technology Center, sponsored two "Spreading the Stories" workshops in May at the Villa Victoria housing development in the South End of Boston. Storybuilders helped facilitate both workshops.

I made my first journey to the University of Illinois, in Urbana-Champaign (one of those gorgeous midwestern public universities) to present a description of my dissertation methodology at the 3rd Congress for Qualitative Inquiry. The conference drew a huge crowd of presenters, most from Education, Sociology and Public Health.
