Storybuilders is based in Boston, Massachusetts. We offer consulting and training in basic digital audio and video production to individuals and organizations, and we specialize in producing organizational stories. Staff and Associates

Lisa Dush, Founder and Director
Lisa is the founder and director of Storybuilders. She has always been a reader and writer, and earned her writing stripes by drafting a novel en route to an MFA in Fiction at Virginia Commonwealth University. She has taught writing at the college level at Northeastern University and MIT, and has worked with many organizations in the Boston area and nationally to integrate new media storytelling into their work. In 2009, she received her Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition from UMass Amherst, after completing a dissertation on the challenge of integrating and sustaining digital storytelling in organizations.

Derek Jackson, Music Producer
Derek has been listening to music since Ted Nugent released Cat Scratch Fever and began playing music at the age of 12. He has been recording music since high school and has always been interested in technology in music. He has recently enrolled at Simmons College to study Library and Information Science where he hopes to build on his production skills by studying the recording and preservation of digital media.

Anthony Sweeney, Trainer and Production Assistant
Anthony is the Marketing Director for Fanlight Productions and has worked on several outreach campaigns for national public television programs. He’s studied nonfiction film and video production and is working towards a Masters Degree in film. His background in secondary education led to his first job in documentary films managing the outreach campaign for "The College Track: America’s Sorting Machine."

Mia Olivero, Trainer and Audio Assistant
Mia is a graduate of the Year Up academic and technical training program, and is working toward a career in the film industry. Mia does freelance graphic design and video editing work, and dedicates her free time to serving the youth-run group NAGLY, creating her own digital productions, and, like many other young adults, updating her MySpace page.
Affiliated Organizations

Creative Narrations, based in Seattle, WA, and directed by Natasha Freidus, collaborates with Storybuilders and does multimedia and storytelling work to build communities and neighborhoods.

Stories for Change
Stories for Change is an online digital storytelling portal, a place to post and watch stories and to gather resources for teaching the digital storytelling process.
